In a mixing bowl, combine softened unsalted butter, chopped fresh basil, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are fully incorporated.

Prepare the Garlic Butter

Slice the Italian bread or baguette in half lengthwise. Place the halves on a baking sheet, cut side up.
