Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Fish

Rinse the fish fillets under cold water and pat them dry with a paper towel. In a small bowl, mix together the paprika, cumin, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and chili powder. Rub this spice mix evenly over both sides of the fish fillets.

  2. 2

    Prepare Banana Leaves

If using fresh banana leaves, briefly pass them over an open flame or dip them in hot water to make them pliable. Lay 2 leaves on a flat surface, overlapping them slightly.

  3. 3

    Wrap the Fish

Place a seasoned fish fillet in the center of the banana leaves. Drizzle with olive oil and lime juice. Fold the leaves over the fish to create a secure parcel. Repeat with the remaining fillets.

  4. 4

    Cook the Fish

Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Place the banana leaf parcels on the grill or skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until the fish is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.

  5. 5

    Serve

Carefully unwrap the banana leaves and serve the fish hot, drizzled with additional lime juice if desired.
