Panna Cotta Ingredients
Method
Directions
- 1
Prepare the Gelatin
In a small bowl, sprinkle the gelatin powder over the water and let it bloom for about 5 minutes.
- 2
Burn the Butter
In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter. Continue cooking until it turns a deep golden brown and has a nutty aroma, about 5-7 minutes. Be careful not to burn it.
- 3
Combine Cream and Milk
In another saucepan, combine the heavy cream, whole milk, granulated sugar, and a pinch of salt. Heat over medium heat until the sugar dissolves and the mixture is hot but not boiling.
- 4
Add Burnt Butter
Once the cream mixture is hot, remove it from heat and whisk in the browned butter and vanilla extract.
- 5
Incorporate Gelatin
Add the bloomed gelatin to the warm cream mixture and whisk until fully dissolved.
- 6
Chill the Mixture
Pour the panna cotta mixture into serving molds or glasses. Allow to cool at room temperature for about 30 minutes, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours or until set.
- 7
Serve
Once set, carefully unmold the panna cotta if using molds. Serve chilled, optionally garnished with fresh fruit or a drizzle of caramel sauce.
