Method

Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Activate Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.

  2. 2

    Make Dough

In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Create a well in the center and add the activated yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.

  3. 3

    Knead Dough

Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  4. 4

    Let Dough Rise

Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Pizza Assembly

  1. 5

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat up.

  2. 6

    Shape Dough

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and transfer it to a floured surface. Roll it out to your desired thickness and shape.

  3. 7

    Add Toppings

Transfer the rolled-out dough to a pizza peel or baking sheet. Spread mozzarella cheese evenly over the dough, then scatter sliced red onion, green olives, and pickled chili peppers on top.

  4. 8

    Bake Pizza

If using a pizza stone, transfer the pizza onto the stone. Bake for about 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden and cheese is bubbly.

  5. 9

    Garnish

Remove the pizza from the oven, drizzle with olive oil, and top with fresh basil leaves. Slice and serve hot.
