Method
Brewing Espresso
- 1
Prepare the Espresso Machine
Ensure your espresso machine is clean and ready to use. Fill the water reservoir with fresh water.
- 2
Grind Coffee Beans
Use a burr grinder to grind 18 grams of coffee beans to a fine consistency suitable for espresso.
- 3
Tamp the Coffee
Place the ground coffee into the portafilter, ensuring it's evenly distributed. Use a tamper to compress the grounds firmly.
- 4
Brew the Espresso
Lock the portafilter into the espresso machine and start the brewing process. Aim for a shot time of about 25-30 seconds to extract 60 ml of espresso.
Adding the Liquor
- 5
Measure the Liquor
Pour 30 ml of Grappa or Sambuca into a small shot glass.
- 6
Combine with Espresso
Once the espresso is brewed, pour the shot of Grappa or Sambuca directly into the espresso. Stir gently to combine.
- 7
Serve
Serve immediately in a warm espresso cup. Optionally, garnish with a twist of lemon peel or a coffee bean on top.
