Method
Preparation of Cured Meats
- 1
Select and Slice Meats
Choose three to five types of cured meats such as Pancetta, Soppressata, Capicola, Bresaola, and Prosciutto. Slice each meat thinly using a sharp knife or a meat slicer for even, professional-looking slices.
Preparing Accompaniments
- 2
Prepare Accompaniments
Rinse the olives and cornichons under cold water and drain well. Slice the artisan bread into thick slices, about 1 inch each. If using cheese, slice it into thin wedges or small cubes.
Assembling the Salumi Board
- 3
Assemble the Charcuterie Board
On a large wooden board or platter, arrange the sliced cured meats in a visually appealing manner. Group similar meats together or fan them out for a more dynamic presentation.
- 4
Add Accompaniments
Place the olives, cornichons, and cheese around the cured meats on the board. Add small bowls for mustard and any additional dips you may want to include.
- 5
Garnish
Sprinkle fresh herbs over the board for color and flavor. Add freshly cracked black pepper to taste.
- 6
Serve
Serve immediately with the artisan bread on the side. Encourage guests to mix and match the meats with the accompaniments for a delightful tasting experience.
