Dough Preparation

Make the Dough
In a mixing bowl, combine warm water and sugar. Sprinkle the yeast over the top and let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.

Combine Ingredients
Add the flour, olive oil, and salt to the yeast mixture. Stir until a dough forms.

Knead the Dough
Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Let it Rise
Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours until doubled in size.

Prepare the Sauce
Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the rolled-out pizza dough.

Add Cheese
Tear the fresh mozzarella cheese into small pieces and distribute over the sauce.

Season the Pizza
Drizzle olive oil over the top, and season with salt and black pepper to taste.

Add Basil
Place fresh basil leaves on top of the cheese.
Baking

Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C) for at least 30 minutes.

Transfer the pizza to a baking stone or a baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbling.
