Method

Cheeses

  1. 1

    Prepare the Cheeses

Cut the artisanal cheddar, brie, and gorgonzola into bite-sized cubes or wedges. Arrange them on a serving platter.

Salumi

  1. 2

    Prepare the Salumi

Thinly slice the prosciutto, salami, and soppressata. Neatly arrange the sliced salumi alongside the cheeses on the platter.

House-Made Bread

  1. 3

    Make the Dough

In a bowl, combine the warm water and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until foamy. In a separate large bowl, mix the all-purpose flour and salt. Make a well in the center and pour in the yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.

  2. 4

    Knead and Rise

Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes until smooth. Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

  3. 5

    Shape the Bread

Once risen, punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf or divide into smaller rolls. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  4. 6

    Bake the Bread

Preheat the oven to 220°C (425°F). Let the shaped dough rise again for about 30 minutes. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and hollow-sounding when tapped. Let cool before slicing.
