Method

Marinating the Steak

  1. 1

    Prepare the Marinade

In a bowl, combine soy sauce, mirin, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, and black pepper to create the marinade.

  2. 2

    Marinate the Steak

Place the ribeye steaks in a resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the steaks, ensuring they are well coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or overnight for maximum flavor.

Cooking the Steak and Vegetables

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill or stovetop grill pan to high heat.

  2. 4

    Cook the Steak

Remove the steaks from the marinade and let excess marinade drip off. Grill the steaks for about 4-6 minutes per side for medium-rare, depending on thickness. Use a meat thermometer to check for an internal temperature of 130-135°F (54-57°C).

  3. 5

    Let the Steak Rest

Once cooked, remove the steaks from the grill and let them rest for 5-10 minutes to allow juices to redistribute.

  4. 6

    Grill the Vegetables

While the steak is resting, toss the sliced zucchini, mushrooms, onion, and bell pepper with a bit of sesame oil. Grill the vegetables for about 5-7 minutes until they are tender and slightly charred.

Serving

  1. 7

    Plate the Dish

Slice the grilled steak against the grain and serve it on a plate alongside the grilled vegetables.

  2. 8

    Garnish and Enjoy

Sprinkle sesame seeds and chopped green onions over the steak and vegetables before serving. Enjoy your Hibachi Steak!
