Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ingredients

Wash the lemons and ginger root thoroughly. Cut the lemons in half and juice them using a citrus juicer. Peel the ginger root and chop it into small pieces.

  2. 2

    Boil Water

In a medium-sized pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil over medium-high heat.

  3. 3

    Infuse Ginger

Once the water is boiling, add the chopped ginger root to the pot. Reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 10 minutes.

  4. 4

    Mix Ingredients

After simmering, remove the pot from heat. Strain the ginger-infused water into a large pitcher using a fine sieve to remove ginger pieces.

  5. 5

    Combine Flavors

Add the fresh lemon juice and agave syrup to the pitcher. Stir until the agave syrup is completely dissolved. Add cayenne pepper and stir again.

  6. 6

    Chill or Serve Warm

You can serve the gingerade warm or chill it in the refrigerator for 30 minutes if you prefer a cold drink.

Serving

  1. 7

    Garnish and Enjoy

Pour the gingerade into glasses. Optionally, garnish with fresh mint leaves and lemon slices as desired. Serve immediately and enjoy the refreshing taste of Sunshine Gingerade!
