Avocado Puree

Method

Tuna Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Tuna

Pat the Ahi tuna steaks dry with paper towels. Season both sides lightly with salt.

  2. 2

    Coat with Togarashi

Evenly coat the tuna steaks with the Togarashi spice blend, pressing gently to adhere.

  3. 3

    Sear the Tuna

Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add the sesame oil. Once hot, sear the tuna steaks for 1-2 minutes on each side for medium-rare, adjusting the time based on desired doneness. Remove from skillet and let rest.

Avocado Puree Preparation

  1. 4

    Prepare the Avocado Puree

Scoop the flesh from the ripe avocados into a blender. Add the lime juice and salt. Blend until smooth and creamy. Adjust salt to taste.

Asian Slaw Preparation

  1. 5

    Mix the Slaw

In a large bowl, combine the shredded cabbage, julienned carrot, sliced red bell pepper, and chopped cilantro.

  2. 6

    Make the Dressing

In a separate small bowl, whisk together rice vinegar, soy sauce, sesame oil, honey, and salt until well combined.

  3. 7

    Combine Slaw and Dressing

Pour the dressing over the slaw mixture and toss well to combine. Let it sit for 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
