Method

For the Blackened Salmon

  1. 1

    Prepare the Spice Mixture

In a small bowl, combine the paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, dried thyme, black pepper, and salt. Mix well.

  2. 2

    Season the Salmon

Rub the spice mixture evenly over the salmon fillets. Ensure both sides are well coated.

  3. 3

    Cook the Salmon

In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the salmon fillets skin-side down and cook for 4-5 minutes until blackened. Flip and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes or until cooked to your desired doneness.

For the Dill Tartar Sauce

  1. 4

    Combine Ingredients

In a bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, chopped dill, lemon juice, chopped capers, salt, and black pepper until well combined. Adjust seasoning to taste.

For the Sandwich Assembly

  1. 5

    Toast the Buns

Lightly toast the burger buns in a toaster or on a skillet until golden brown.

  2. 6

    Assemble the Sandwich

Spread a generous amount of dill tartar sauce on the bottom half of each bun. Place a blackened salmon fillet on each bun, followed by a slice of tomato and a handful of arugula. Top with the other half of the bun.

  3. 7

    Serve

Serve the blackened salmon sandwiches immediately with your choice of side.
