Method

Steak Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Take the ribeye steaks out of the refrigerator and let them sit at room temperature for 30 minutes before cooking.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

In a small bowl, mix the olive oil, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Rub this mixture all over the steaks, ensuring they are evenly coated.

  3. 3

    Cook the Steak

Heat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the steaks and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness is reached. Add fresh rosemary to the skillet during the last minute of cooking for added flavor.

  4. 4

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steaks from the heat and let them rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

Cake Directions

  1. 5

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.

  2. 6

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, salt, and cocoa powder. Whisk until well mixed.

  3. 7

    Cream Butter and Sugar

In another bowl, cream the softened butter until light and fluffy. Gradually add the sugar and continue to beat until well combined.

  4. 8

    Add Eggs and Milk

Add the eggs one at a time to the butter mixture, mixing well after each addition. Then stir in the milk and vanilla extract until smooth.

  5. 9

    Combine Mixtures

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Do not overmix.

  6. 10

    Bake the Cake

Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  7. 11

    Cool the Cake

Once baked, allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
