Macerated Berries
French Toast
Vanilla Whipped Cream
Method
Macerated Berries
- 1
Prepare the Berries
In a medium bowl, combine the fresh strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries. Sprinkle the granulated sugar and lemon juice over the berries.
- 2
Macerate the Berries
Gently stir the berries to combine with the sugar and lemon juice. Let the mixture sit for at least 15 minutes at room temperature to allow the berries to release their juices.
French Toast
- 3
Prepare the Egg Mixture
In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon until well combined.
- 4
Soak the Bread
Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. Dip each slice of thick-sliced bread into the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are well-coated. Let any excess drip off.
- 5
Cook the French Toast
Add 1 tablespoon of butter to the skillet for each batch of French toast. Once melted and sizzling, place the soaked bread slices in the skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.
Vanilla Whipped Cream
- 6
Whip the Cream
In a mixing bowl, combine the heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Using a hand mixer or stand mixer, whip on medium speed until soft peaks form.
- 7
Serve the Whipped Cream
Once the whipped cream is ready, transfer it to a serving bowl or pipe it onto the French toast when serving.
