Stir in heavy cream, butter, salt, black pepper, and half of the shredded cheddar cheese into the cooked grits until creamy. Set aside and keep warm.

In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant. Add shrimp, Cajun seasoning, and cook until shrimp is pink and opaque, about 3-5 minutes.
