Preparation Steps
- 1
Prepare the Apple Filling
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large mixing bowl, combine the sliced apples with 1/2 cup of sugar and 1 tsp of cinnamon. Toss to coat the apples evenly. Spread the apple mixture evenly in a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
- 2
Make the Topping
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, remaining 1/2 cup of sugar, baking powder, and a pinch of salt. Stir in the melted butter and milk until just combined. Pour the batter over the apples, spreading it evenly.
- 3
Bake the Cobbler
Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- 4
Serve
Allow the cobbler to cool slightly before serving. Scoop warm cobbler into bowls and top each serving with a generous scoop of vanilla bean ice cream.
