Method
Cooking Directions
Prepare the Breading
In a shallow dish, combine flour, cornmeal, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Mix well.
Coat the Flounder
Dip each flounder fillet into the egg wash, allowing excess to drip off, then dredge in the breading mixture, pressing lightly to adhere.
Heat the Oil
In a large skillet or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
Fry the Flounder
Carefully place the coated flounder fillets into the hot oil. Fry for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through.
Drain and Serve
Remove the fried flounder from the oil and place on paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve hot with lemon wedges and house-prepared tartar sauce.
