Cooking Instructions
- 1
Preheat and Prepare
Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C). Mix together the salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and chopped rosemary in a small bowl to create a seasoning rub.
- 2
Season the Roast
Rub the prime rib roast all over with olive oil, then apply the seasoning mixture generously on the surface of the meat.
- 3
Roasting
Place the seasoned prime rib in a roasting pan, bone side down. Roast in the preheated oven for 20 minutes to develop a crust.
- 4
Lower Temperature
Reduce the oven temperature to 325°F (163°C) and continue roasting for about 1.5 to 2 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches your desired doneness (125°F for rare, 135°F for medium-rare, 145°F for medium).
- 5
Rest and Serve
Remove the prime rib from the oven and let it rest for at least 20 minutes before slicing. Serve with beef broth drizzled over the top.
