Prepare the Salad Base
In a large salad bowl, place 4 cups of watercress as the base.

Prepare the Strawberries
Wash and hull 2 cups of strawberries, then slice them into quarters or halves, depending on their size.

Prepare the Red Onion
Peel and thinly slice 1 medium red onion. Rinse the slices under cold water to reduce their sharpness, if desired.

Prepare the Aged Gouda
Shred or cube 1 cup of aged Gouda cheese and set it aside.

Sprinkle 1 cup of toasted cashews over the salad mixture.

Drizzle balsamic reduction over the salad to taste. Toss gently to ensure everything is coated.
