Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Glass
Begin by selecting a rocks glass. Place it in the freezer for a few minutes to chill, or fill it with ice water to cool while you prepare the drink.
- 2
Mix the Ingredients
In a mixing glass, combine 2 oz of Four Roses Bourbon, 0.5 oz of brown sugar syrup, and 2 dashes of orange bitters.
- 3
Add Ice and Stir
Add ice cubes to the mixing glass. Stir the mixture gently for about 30-45 seconds until well chilled and diluted to your preference.
- 4
Strain and Serve
Discard the ice or water from the chilled rocks glass. Strain the mixture from the mixing glass into the rocks glass over fresh ice.
- 5
Garnish
Use a vegetable peeler or knife to create a twist of orange peel. Express the oils over the drink by holding the peel over the glass and giving it a gentle twist. Place the peel into the drink as a garnish.
