Artichoke Hearts

Method

Preparing Artichoke Hearts

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) to prepare for baking the crispy artichoke hearts.

  2. 2

    Drain and Rinse Artichoke Hearts

Open the cans of artichoke hearts, drain the liquid, and rinse them under cold water. Pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.

  3. 3

    Prepare Breading Station

Set up a breading station with three bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with a mixture of breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, salt, and black pepper.

  4. 4

    Bread the Artichokes

Dip each artichoke heart into the flour, coating it evenly. Next, dip it into the beaten eggs, allowing any excess to drip off. Finally, coat the artichoke heart in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to adhere.

  5. 5

    Arrange on Baking Sheet

Place the breaded artichoke hearts on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Make sure they are spaced out to allow for even cooking.

  6. 6

    Drizzle with Olive Oil

Drizzle the coated artichoke hearts with olive oil to help them crisp up in the oven.

  7. 7

    Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy, turning halfway through for even cooking.

Making Dijonnaise Sauce

  1. 8

    Combine Ingredients

In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, chopped dill, and chopped basil.

  2. 9

    Mix Well

Stir the mixture until all ingredients are well incorporated and smooth. Adjust seasoning to taste if necessary.

Serving

  1. 10

    Plate and Serve

Once the artichoke hearts are done baking, remove them from the oven and let them cool slightly. Serve warm with the dijonnaise sauce on the side for dipping.
