Fish and Chips
Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Fish Batter
In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, and black pepper. Gradually whisk in the beer until the batter is smooth. Let it rest for 15 minutes.
- 2
Prepare the Coleslaw
In a large bowl, mix the shredded cabbage, grated carrot, mayonnaise, lemon juice, diced pickles, sugar, salt, and black pepper. Toss well and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
- 3
Fry the Fish
Heat the vegetable oil in a deep fryer or a large pot to 350°F (175°C). Dip each fish fillet into the batter, allowing excess to drip off. Fry in batches until golden brown, about 4-5 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- 4
Cook the Fries
In the same oil, fry the frozen fries according to package instructions until crispy and golden. Drain on paper towels and season with salt.
- 5
Serve
Plate the fried fish alongside the crispy fries and a generous serving of coleslaw. Serve with tartar sauce on the side.
