Method

For the Meatballs

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. 2

    Mix Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, egg, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

  3. 3

    Form Meatballs

Using your hands, form the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter, and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  4. 4

    Bake Meatballs

Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, until cooked through and browned.

For the Spaghetti

  1. 5

    Cook Spaghetti

In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

  2. 6

    Prepare Sauce

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.

  3. 7

    Add Tomatoes and Spices

Pour in the crushed tomatoes, and add dried oregano, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Stir to combine and let simmer for 10 minutes.

  4. 8

    Combine Meatballs and Sauce

Add the baked meatballs into the sauce, gently coating them. Let simmer for another 5 minutes.

  5. 9

    Toss Spaghetti

Add the cooked spaghetti to the sauce and meatballs, tossing to combine well.

For the Garlic Crostini

  1. 10

    Prepare Baguette

Slice the baguette into 1/2 inch thick slices.

  2. 11

    Brush with Olive Oil

Brush both sides of each slice with olive oil and sprinkle with salt.

  3. 12

    Toast Crostini

Place the slices on a baking sheet and toast in the oven at 400°F (200°C) for about 5-7 minutes until golden.

  4. 13

    Rub Garlic

Once out of the oven, rub the cut side of the halved garlic cloves over each slice for a hint of garlic flavor.
