Method

Steak

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Take the ribeye steak out of the refrigerator and let it come to room temperature for about 30 minutes.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Rub the ribeye generously with olive oil, then sprinkle both sides with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.

  3. 3

    Cook the Steak

Heat a cast-iron skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the ribeye steak and sear for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or adjust cooking time to your preference.

  4. 4

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest on a cutting board for about 5-10 minutes before slicing.

Mashed Potatoes

  1. 5

    Prepare the Potatoes

Peel and chop the russet potatoes into even-sized chunks.

  2. 6

    Boil the Potatoes

Place the chopped potatoes in a pot of salted water. Bring to a boil and cook for about 15-20 minutes, or until tender.

  3. 7

    Mash the Potatoes

Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Add butter, milk, salt, and black pepper. Mash until smooth and creamy.

Asparagus

  1. 8

    Prepare the Asparagus

Wash the asparagus spears and trim the woody ends.

  2. 9

    Roast the Asparagus

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Place the asparagus on a baking sheet, drizzle with olive oil, and sprinkle with salt and black pepper. Toss to coat.

  3. 10

    Bake the Asparagus

Roast in the oven for about 12-15 minutes, or until tender and slightly crispy.
