Method

Preparing the Patty

  1. 1

    Mixing the Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently with your hands until just combined.

  2. 2

    Shaping the Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and form each portion into a round patty, about ¾ inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to ensure even cooking.

Cooking the Patty

  1. 3

    Grilling or Pan-Frying

Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip them.

  2. 4

    Adding Cheese

Place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty after flipping. Cook for an additional 4-5 minutes until the cheese is melted and the patty reaches an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C).

Assembling the Cheeseburger

  1. 5

    Toasting the Buns

While the patties are cooking, you can toast the country white buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

  2. 6

    Building the Burger

Place each cooked patty on the bottom half of the toasted bun. Add optional toppings such as lettuce, tomato, and pickles. Top with ketchup and mustard if desired, then place the top half of the bun.
