Method

Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix the Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, active dry yeast, and salt. Mix well.

  2. 2

    Heat the Milk and Butter

In a small saucepan, heat the milk and unsalted butter over low heat until the butter is melted. Allow to cool slightly until warm, but not hot.

  3. 3

    Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients

Add the warm milk mixture and eggs into the dry ingredients. Mix until a soft dough forms.

  4. 4

    Knead the Dough

Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  5. 5

    Let the Dough Rise

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean cloth, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Filling Preparation

  1. 6

    Prepare the Filling Mixture

In a medium bowl, mix the brown sugar, ground cinnamon, chopped pecans, and vanilla extract until well combined.

  2. 7

    Melt the Butter

Melt the unsalted butter in a microwave or small saucepan and set aside.

Assembly and Baking

  1. 8

    Shape the Dough

After the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface into a rectangle about 1/2 inch thick.

  2. 9

    Add the Filling

Brush the melted butter over the dough, then sprinkle the filling mixture evenly over the top.

  3. 10

    Cut and Stack the Dough

Cut the dough into strips, then stack the strips on top of each other and cut them into squares.

  4. 11

    Arrange in the Pan

Place the dough squares in a greased bundt pan, layering them as you go.

  5. 12

    Second Rise

Cover the bundt pan with a cloth and let it rise for an additional 30 minutes.

  6. 13

    Bake the Pull Apart

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake the pull apart bread for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown.

Topping Preparation

  1. 14

    Make the Glaze

In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.

  2. 15

    Glaze the Pull Apart

Once the pull apart bread has cooled slightly, drizzle the glaze over the top before serving.
