Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, whisk together the almond flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.

Combine Wet Ingredients

  1. 3

    Whisk Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and melted coconut oil until smooth.

  2. 4

    Combine Mixtures

Pour the wet mixture into the dry mixture and stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

Add Finishing Touches

  1. 5

    Fold in Add-ins

Gently fold in the dark chocolate chips and, if desired, the chopped walnuts or pecans until evenly distributed.

  2. 6

    Scoop the Dough

Using a tablespoon or cookie scoop, drop heaping tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

Baking

  1. 7

    Bake Cookies

Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set but the centers look slightly underbaked.

  2. 8

    Cool the Cookies

Remove from the oven and allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
