Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Bread

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Cut the stale bread into cubes and place it in a large mixing bowl.

  2. 2

    Mix Wet Ingredients

In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, almond extract, eggs, and salt until well combined.

  3. 3

    Combine Ingredients

Pour the wet mixture over the cubed bread, ensuring all pieces are soaked. Let it sit for about 15 minutes to absorb the liquid.

Adding Fruits and Nuts

  1. 4

    Fold in Cherries and Almonds

Gently fold in the halved cherries and sliced almonds into the soaked bread mixture until evenly distributed.

Baking

  1. 5

    Transfer to Baking Dish

Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish and pour the bread pudding mixture into it, spreading it out evenly.

  2. 6

    Bake the Pudding

Bake in the preheated oven for about 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

  3. 7

    Cool and Serve

Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly. Serve warm, dusted with powdered sugar and topped with whipped cream if desired.
