Method

Brisket Preparation

  1. 1

    Season and Sear Brisket

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Season the brisket with taco seasoning, then sear it in the skillet for about 3-4 minutes on each side until browned.

  2. 2

    Braise Brisket

Pour in the beef broth, cover the skillet, and reduce the heat to low. Let the brisket braise for 2 to 3 hours, or until it is tender and easily shredded with a fork.

Pickled Onions Preparation

  1. 3

    Slice and Pickle

While the brisket is cooking, thinly slice the red onion. In a small pot, combine white vinegar, sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil, then pour over the sliced onions in a bowl. Let sit for at least 30 minutes to pickle.

Taco Assembly

  1. 4

    Warm Tortillas

In a dry skillet over medium heat, warm the corn tortillas for about 30 seconds on each side until pliable.

  2. 5

    Assemble Tacos

Shred the cooked brisket and place a generous amount on each tortilla. Top with pickled onions, fresh cilantro, and a squeeze of lime juice.
