Salad Base

Blackened Salmon

Dilly Ranch Dressing

Method

Preparing the Salad Base

  1. 1

    Prepare the Gem Lettuce

Wash and dry the gem lettuce leaves. Tear them into bite-sized pieces and place them in a large salad bowl.

  2. 2

    Slice the Watermelon Radish

Using a sharp knife, slice the watermelon radish into thin rounds. Add them to the bowl with the gem lettuce.

  3. 3

    Chop the Cucumber

Peel the cucumber if desired, then chop it into half-moon shapes. Add the cucumber to the salad bowl.

  4. 4

    Prepare the Avocado

Cut the avocado in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh out with a spoon. Cut the avocado into slices or cubes and add it to the salad.

  5. 5

    Add Pickled Onions

Add the pickled onions to the salad bowl along with the other vegetables.

  6. 6

    Add Sunflower Seeds

Sprinkle the sunflower seeds on top of the salad for added crunch.

Cooking the Blackened Salmon

  1. 7

    Season the Salmon

Rub the salmon fillets with olive oil and then coat them generously with Cajun seasoning on both sides.

  2. 8

    Cook the Salmon

Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the seasoned salmon fillets. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, until the salmon is blackened and cooked through.

  3. 9

    Rest the Salmon

Once cooked, remove the salmon from the skillet and let it rest for 2-3 minutes before flaking it into large pieces.

Making the Dilly Ranch Dressing

  1. 10

    Combine Ingredients

In a bowl, mix together Greek yogurt, buttermilk, dried dill, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper until well combined.

  2. 11

    Adjust Seasoning

Taste the dressing and adjust the seasoning if necessary, adding more salt or dill to taste.

Assembling the Salad

  1. 12

    Combine Salad and Salmon

Add the flaked blackened salmon on top of the prepared salad base.

  2. 13

    Drizzle with Dressing

Drizzle the dilly ranch dressing over the salad and toss gently to combine all ingredients.

  3. 14

    Serve

Serve the salad immediately, garnishing with extra sunflower seeds if desired.
