Method
Preparing the Coffee
- 1
Measure the Coffee Beans
Open the bag of Up Roaster Whole Bean Coffee and measure out 1/2 cup of whole coffee beans. Adjust the quantity based on your preference for strength.
- 2
Grind the Coffee Beans
Using a coffee grinder, grind the measured coffee beans to a medium-coarse consistency, similar to sea salt. This will enhance the flavor extraction during brewing.
- 3
Boil the Water
In a kettle, bring 4 cups of filtered water to a boil. Once boiling, remove from heat and let it cool for 30 seconds to achieve the ideal brewing temperature.
- 4
Brew the Coffee
In a French press or drip coffee maker, add the ground coffee and pour the hot water over the grounds. Let it steep for 4-5 minutes for optimal flavor extraction.
- 5
Serve the Coffee
After steeping, if using a French press, press down the plunger slowly to separate the grounds from the liquid. Pour the brewed coffee into a mug.
Adding Optional Flavorings
- 6
Add Milk or Cream
If desired, add 1/4 to 1/2 cup of milk or cream to your coffee for a creamier texture. Stir well to combine.
- 7
Sweeten to Taste
Add sugar or sweetener, starting with 1 tablespoon and adjusting to taste. Stir until dissolved.
- 8
Enhance with Vanilla
For added flavor, stir in 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. This will give your coffee a delightful aroma and taste.
