Steak Tenderloin

Method

Cooking Process

  1. 1

    Preparing the Steak

Take the steak tenderloin out of the refrigerator and let it come to room temperature for about 30 minutes. This helps in even cooking.

  2. 2

    Seasoning

Generously season the steak with salt and black pepper on both sides. Ensure that the seasoning adheres well to the meat.

  3. 3

    Heating the Pan

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until it shimmers but does not smoke.

  4. 4

    Searing the Steak

Carefully place the seasoned steak in the hot skillet and sear for about 4-5 minutes on one side without moving it. This develops a nice crust.

  5. 5

    Flipping the Steak

Using tongs, flip the steak and add the butter, garlic cloves (crushed), and rosemary to the skillet. Continue cooking for another 4-5 minutes for medium-rare, basting the steak with the melted butter and aromatics.

  6. 6

    Resting the Steak

Once cooked to your desired doneness, remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest on a cutting board for about 5-10 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute.

  7. 7

    Serving

Slice the steak against the grain and serve it warm with your choice of sides, such as cooked hash or eggs.
