Prepare the Ingredients
Begin by rinsing the broccoli rabe under cold water, trimming the ends, and cutting it into smaller pieces. Mince the garlic cloves and set aside.

Cook the Fennel Sausage
In a large skillet over medium heat, add the fennel sausage, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned and fully cooked, about 8-10 minutes. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

Cook the Pasta
In a large pot of boiling salted water, add the tagliatelle pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Reserve 1 cup of pasta cooking water, then drain the pasta and set aside.

Combine the Ingredients
Return the cooked sausage to the skillet with the broccoli rabe and garlic. Add the drained tagliatelle and basil pesto. Toss everything together, adding reserved pasta water a little at a time until you reach your desired sauce consistency.

Sprinkle the chili flakes and grated Parmesan cheese over the pasta. Toss to incorporate. Serve immediately, garnished with additional Parmesan cheese if desired.
