Meatballs

Method

Meatballs Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped basil, dried oregano, minced garlic, beaten egg, breadcrumbs, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are fully incorporated.

  2. 2

    Form Meatballs

Using your hands, form the mixture into meatballs about 1 inch in diameter. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  3. 3

    Bake Meatballs

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until they are browned and cooked through.

Fresh Tomato Sauce Preparation

  1. 4

    Sauté Vegetables

In a large saucepan, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, sautéing until the onion is translucent.

  2. 5

    Cook Tomatoes

Add the diced fresh tomatoes to the saucepan. Season with salt and black pepper. Simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens.

  3. 6

    Garnish Sauce

Stir in the chopped fresh basil just before serving.

Crostini Preparation

  1. 7

    Prepare Baguette

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Slice the baguette into 1/2 inch thick slices.

  2. 8

    Toast Crostini

Brush both sides of the baguette slices with olive oil and arrange them on a baking sheet. Toast in the preheated oven for about 10 minutes or until golden brown.

  3. 9

    Add Parmesan

Remove from the oven and sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese on top of each slice. Return to the oven for an additional 2-3 minutes until the cheese is melted.
