Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Remove the ribeye steak from the refrigerator and allow it to come to room temperature for about 30 minutes. This helps in cooking it evenly.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Pat the steak dry with paper towels. Rub both sides with olive oil, then season generously with salt and black pepper.

  3. 3

    Preheat the Pan

Heat a heavy skillet or cast-iron pan over medium-high heat until it is very hot.

  4. 4

    Sear the Steak

Place the ribeye steak in the hot pan and sear for 4-5 minutes without moving it, until it forms a nice crust.

  5. 5

    Flip and Add Aromatics

Flip the steak using tongs. Add the garlic cloves and rosemary to the pan. Sear the other side for another 4-5 minutes for medium-rare, adjusting the time based on desired doneness.

  6. 6

    Baste the Steak

Tilt the pan slightly to collect the juices and use a spoon to baste the steak with the pan juices for enhanced flavor.

  7. 7

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steak from the pan and transfer it to a cutting board. Let it rest for about 5-10 minutes before slicing.

  8. 8

    Serve

Slice the ribeye against the grain and serve hot, optionally with sides of your choice.
