Bread Pudding Ingredients

Method

Bread Pudding Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Bread

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Tear the day-old bread into bite-sized pieces and place them in a large mixing bowl.

  2. 2

    Mix the Wet Ingredients

In a separate bowl, whisk together the whole milk, heavy cream, sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and salt until smooth.

  3. 3

    Combine and Soak

Pour the wet mixture over the torn bread pieces. Add the raisins and gently fold everything together until the bread is well-coated. Let it sit for about 15-20 minutes to allow the bread to soak up the liquid.

  4. 4

    Bake the Pudding

Transfer the mixture into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish. Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the center is set.

  5. 5

    Prepare the Hot Whiskey Sauce

In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of brown sugar, 1/2 cup of heavy cream, and 1/2 cup of whiskey. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves and the mixture thickens slightly, about 5-7 minutes.

  6. 6

    Serve

Remove the bread pudding from the oven and let it cool slightly. Serve warm, drizzled with the hot whiskey sauce.
