Churro Dough

Cinnamon Sugar

Chocolate Sauce

Agave Nectar

Method

Churro Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Dough

In a medium saucepan, combine the water, unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and salt. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat.

  2. 2

    Mix in Flour

Once boiling, remove from heat and stir in the all-purpose flour until the mixture forms a ball. Let it cool slightly.

  3. 3

    Add Eggs

Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition until the dough is smooth and glossy.

Frying the Churros

  1. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a deep frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  2. 5

    Pipe the Dough

Transfer the churro dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip. Carefully pipe strips of dough into the hot oil, cutting them to your desired length.

  3. 6

    Fry Until Golden

Fry the churros for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until they are golden brown. Remove them from the oil and place them on paper towels to drain.

Cinnamon Sugar Coating

  1. 7

    Prepare the Cinnamon Sugar

In a shallow bowl, mix together the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon.

  2. 8

    Coat the Churros

While the churros are still warm, toss them in the cinnamon sugar mixture until fully coated.

Chocolate Sauce Preparation

  1. 9

    Make the Chocolate Sauce

In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until just simmering. Remove from heat and stir in the semisweet chocolate chips until melted and smooth.

Serving

  1. 10

    Plate the Churros

Serve the churros warm, drizzled with agave nectar and accompanied by the chocolate sauce for dipping.
