Burger Components

Method

Burger Preparation

  1. 1

    Caramelize the Onions

Slice the medium onion into thin rings. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the onions and a pinch of salt, cooking slowly until they are golden brown and caramelized, about 15-20 minutes. Stir occasionally to prevent burning.

  2. 2

    Cook the Bacon

In the same skillet or another pan, cook the bacon slices over medium heat until crispy. Once cooked, remove from the pan and let drain on paper towels to remove excess grease. Chop into small pieces.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Burger Patties

In a bowl, mix the ground beef with salt and black pepper to taste. Form into two equal-sized patties.

  4. 4

    Cook the Burger Patties

In the same skillet used for the bacon, cook the burger patties over medium-high heat for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.

  5. 5

    Assemble the Burger

On the bottom half of each burger bun, place the cooked burger patty. Top it with caramelized onions, crispy bacon, and a generous sprinkle of bleu cheese crumbles. Spread the black pepper aioli on the top half of the bun and place it on top to complete the burger.

  6. 6

    Serve

Serve the Highways Blue Burger warm with your favorite side dishes.
