Eggs and Hot Cakes

Method

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ingredients

Gather all the ingredients needed for the dish.

  2. 2

    Cook the Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon slices until crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from skillet and place on paper towels to drain excess grease.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Hot Cakes Batter

In a mixing bowl, combine the hot cakes mix, milk, and a pinch of salt. Stir until just combined; a few lumps are okay.

  4. 4

    Cook the Hot Cakes

In the same skillet used for bacon (add a little butter if necessary), pour 1/4 cup of batter for each hot cake. Cook until bubbles form on the surface, then flip and cook for another 1-2 minutes until golden brown. Repeat until all batter is used.

  5. 5

    Cook the Eggs

In a separate pan, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat. Crack the eggs into the pan and season with salt and pepper. Cook to your desired doneness (sunny side up, scrambled, or over easy), about 3-5 minutes.

  6. 6

    Serve

Plate the hot cakes, top with butter and maple syrup, and serve alongside the cooked eggs and crispy bacon.
