Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ingredients

Gather all the ingredients needed for the omelette. Make sure the ham is diced and the cheese is shredded for easier mixing.

  2. 2

    Whisk the Eggs

In a mixing bowl, crack the 3 large eggs and add 2 tablespoons of milk, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 1 teaspoon of black pepper. Whisk together until the mixture is well combined and slightly frothy.

  3. 3

    Heat the Pan

Place a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add 2 tablespoons of butter. Allow the butter to melt and cover the bottom of the pan evenly.

  4. 4

    Cook the Omelette Base

Once the butter is melted and bubbling, pour the egg mixture into the skillet. Tilt the pan gently to spread the mixture evenly across the surface.

  5. 5

    Add Ham and Cheese

As the eggs begin to set, sprinkle 1 cup of diced ham and 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese evenly over one half of the omelette.

  6. 6

    Fold the Omelette

Once the edges of the omelette start to lift from the pan (about 2-3 minutes), use a spatula to carefully fold the other half over the filled side.

  7. 7

    Finish Cooking

Let the folded omelette cook for another minute or until the cheese is melted and the eggs are fully cooked. You can cover the skillet with a lid to help the cheese melt faster.

  8. 8

    Serve

Slide the omelette onto a plate, garnish with chopped chives, and serve immediately while hot.
