Method

Preparing the Fries

  1. 1

    Cut the Potatoes

Wash and peel the russet potatoes. Cut them into thin strips to create fries.

  2. 2

    Soak the Potatoes

Soak the cut potatoes in cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch.

  3. 3

    Dry the Potatoes

Drain the soaked potatoes and dry them thoroughly using a clean kitchen towel.

  4. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

  5. 5

    Fry the Potatoes

Fry the potatoes in batches for about 5-7 minutes until golden brown and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.

  6. 6

    Season the Fries

While still hot, season the fries with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.

Preparing the Toppings

  1. 7

    Cook the Wagyu Steak

Season the wagyu steak with salt and pepper. Grill or pan-sear over medium-high heat for about 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare. Let it rest before slicing.

  2. 8

    Sauté the Vegetables

In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add sliced onions, mushrooms, and sweet bell peppers. Sauté until soft and caramelized, about 5-7 minutes.

  3. 9

    Slice the Steak

Thinly slice the rested wagyu steak against the grain.

Assembling the Wagyu Fries

  1. 10

    Layer the Fries

On a serving platter, create a base layer of crispy fries.

  2. 11

    Add Toppings

Top the fries with sautéed vegetables, sliced wagyu steak, and layer the white American cheese slices on top.

  3. 12

    Melt the Cheese

Place the assembled fries with toppings under a broiler for 2-3 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  4. 13

    Serve Immediately

Serve the wagyu fries hot, garnished with any extra sautéed vegetables or herbs if desired.
