Method

Meatballs Preparation

1

Mix the Meatball Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, milk, finely chopped onion, minced garlic, egg, salt, black pepper, and nutmeg. Mix until just combined.

2

Shape the Meatballs

With your hands, form the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

3

Cook the Meatballs

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the meatballs in batches and cook until browned on all sides, about 8-10 minutes. Remove them from the skillet and set aside.

Sauce Preparation

4

Make the Sauce

In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Once melted, whisk in the all-purpose flour and cook for 1-2 minutes until lightly golden.

5

Add Broth and Cream

Gradually whisk in the beef broth, ensuring there are no lumps. Bring to a simmer and cook until slightly thickened, about 5 minutes. Stir in the heavy cream, soy sauce, salt, and black pepper.

6

Combine Meatballs and Sauce

Return the meatballs to the skillet, stirring to coat them in the sauce. Simmer for an additional 10 minutes until the meatballs are cooked through.

7

Serve

Garnish with chopped parsley and serve warm over mashed potatoes or noodles.
