Method
Turkey Preparation
- 1
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
- 2
Prepare the Turkey
Remove the turkey from packaging and pat it dry with paper towels. Rub the entire bird with olive oil, ensuring it’s well coated.
- 3
Season the Turkey
Season the turkey inside and out with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and fresh herbs.
- 4
Roast the Turkey
Place the turkey on a roasting rack in a roasting pan. Roast in the preheated oven for about 13-15 minutes per pound, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- 5
Rest the Turkey
Once cooked, remove the turkey from the oven and let it rest for at least 20-30 minutes before pulling the meat.
Sandwich Assembly
- 6
Slice the Turkey
Once the turkey has rested, use your hands or two forks to pull the meat apart into bite-sized pieces.
- 7
Prepare the Vegetables
Wash the lettuce, slice the tomato, and thinly slice the onion.
- 8
Assemble the Sandwich
On a slice of bread, spread mayonnaise, add a layer of pulled turkey, top with provolone cheese, lettuce, tomato slices, and onion. Cap with another slice of bread.
- 9
Serve
Cut the sandwich in half if desired and serve immediately.
