Meatballs

Marinara Sauce

Method

Meatballs Preparation

1

Mix Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.

2

Form Meatballs

Using your hands, form the mixture into balls about 1 inch in diameter. Place the meatballs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

3

Fry Meatballs

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Once hot, add the meatballs in batches (don’t overcrowd the pan) and cook until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from skillet and set aside.

Marinara Sauce Preparation

4

Sauté Vegetables

In the same skillet used for the meatballs, add olive oil and heat over medium heat. Add diced onion and sauté until soft and translucent, about 3-4 minutes. Add minced garlic and sauté for an additional 1 minute.

5

Add Tomatoes and Season

Stir in the canned crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Bring the sauce to a simmer and let it cook for about 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.

6

Combine Meatballs and Sauce

Add the fried meatballs to the marinara sauce. Let the meatballs simmer in the sauce for an additional 10 minutes to absorb the flavors.

7

Finish with Basil

Just before serving, stir in the chopped fresh basil to the sauce and mix well.
