Base Ingredients for Creams & Sorbets
Method
Preparation of Creams & Sorbets
- 1
Prepare the Base
In a mixing bowl, whisk together heavy cream, whole milk, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt until the sugar is fully dissolved. This will be the base for your creams.
- 2
Prepare the Sorbet Base (if making sorbet)
In a separate bowl, combine your fruit puree with lemon juice and adjust sweetness to taste. Mix well until smooth.
- 3
Churn the Mixture
Pour the cream mixture or fruit mixture into a hand churned ice cream maker. Follow the manufacturer's instructions to churn the mixture until it reaches a soft-serve consistency.
- 4
Freeze
Transfer the churned mixture to an airtight container and freeze for at least 4 hours or until firm.
- 5
Serve
Scoop the hand churned creams or sorbets into bowls or cones. Enjoy single scoop, double scoop, or triple scoop!
