Method
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Meatballs
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, egg, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until combined.
- 2
Form the Meatballs
Shape the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter. You should have approximately 20 meatballs.
- 3
Brown the Meatballs
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the meatballs in batches, browning them on all sides. Remove and set aside.
- 4
Make the Sauce
In the same skillet, add the crushed tomatoes and bring to a simmer. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- 5
Simmer the Meatballs
Return the browned meatballs to the skillet, cover, and let them simmer in the sauce for about 20 minutes, or until cooked through.
- 6
Serve
Serve the meatballs with sauce, topped with coarse grated cheese.
