Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Soak the Seaweed

Place the dried wakame in a bowl and cover it with warm water. Allow it to soak for about 10 minutes, or until it has expanded and softened. Drain and squeeze out excess water.

  2. 2

    Prepare Vegetables

While the seaweed is soaking, wash and thinly slice the cucumber, carrot, radishes, and green onions. Set aside.

  3. 3

    Toast Sesame Seeds

In a small skillet over medium heat, toast the sesame seeds for about 2-3 minutes until they are golden brown, stirring frequently. Remove from heat and let cool.

Dressing Preparation

  1. 4

    Mix Dressing Ingredients

In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, sugar, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Adjust seasoning to taste.

Combine and Serve

  1. 5

    Combine Salad

In a large mixing bowl, combine the soaked seaweed, sliced cucumber, carrot, radish, and green onions. Pour the dressing over the salad and toss gently to combine.

  2. 6

    Garnish and Serve

Sprinkle the toasted sesame seeds over the top of the salad. Serve immediately as a refreshing side dish or appetizer.
