Method

Cake Directions

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8-inch round cake pan.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, matcha powder, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.

  3. 3

    Cream Butter and Sugar

In another bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy. Gradually add the granulated sugar and continue to beat until light and fluffy.

  4. 4

    Add Eggs and Vanilla

Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Then mix in the vanilla extract.

  5. 5

    Combine Mixtures

Alternate adding the dry ingredients and milk to the butter mixture, starting and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.

  6. 6

    Bake the Cake

Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

  7. 7

    Cool the Cake

Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then turn it out onto a wire rack to cool completely.

Cream Directions

  1. 8

    Whip the Cream

In a mixing bowl, pour the heavy cream and beat on medium speed until it begins to thicken.

  2. 9

    Add Sugar and Vanilla

Add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract. Continue beating until stiff peaks form.

  3. 10

    Frost the Cake

Once the cake is completely cool, spread the whipped cream on top and sides of the cake as desired.
