Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Greens
In a large salad bowl, add the baby mixed greens. Rinse them under cold water and dry them with a salad spinner or paper towels to remove excess moisture.
- 2
Prepare the Basil
Wash the fresh basil leaves thoroughly. Tear them gently into smaller pieces to release their aromatic oils, and add them to the salad bowl with the mixed greens.
Tomato and Mozzarella Assembly
- 3
Slice the Tomatoes
Wash the tomatoes and slice them into quarters or halves depending on the size. If using cherry tomatoes, they can be halved.
- 4
Prepare the Mozzarella
Slice the fresh mozzarella into bite-sized pieces or tear it into smaller chunks. Add both the tomatoes and mozzarella to the salad bowl with the greens and basil.
Dressing and Serving
- 5
Drizzle the Dressings
In a small bowl, combine the green oil and balsamic reduction. Drizzle this mixture over the salad, ensuring an even coating.
- 6
Toss and Serve
Gently toss the salad to combine all ingredients, being careful not to crush the mozzarella. Serve immediately as a refreshing appetizer or side dish.
