Ladyfingers

Mascarpone Mixture

Cocoa Topping

Method

Prepare Coffee

  1. 1

    Brew the Espresso

Brew 1 cup of strong espresso coffee. Allow it to cool slightly, then stir in coffee liqueur if using. Set aside.

Prepare Mascarpone Mixture

  1. 2

    Separate the Eggs

Separate the egg yolks from the whites into two bowls.

  2. 3

    Whip the Egg Yolks

In a bowl, whisk the egg yolks with 3 tablespoons of granulated sugar until pale and creamy.

  3. 4

    Add Mascarpone

Add 500g of mascarpone cheese and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract to the egg yolk mixture, and mix until smooth.

  4. 5

    Whip the Egg Whites

In a separate bowl, whisk the egg whites until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the beaten egg whites into the mascarpone mixture.

  5. 6

    Whip Heavy Cream

In another bowl, whip 1 cup of heavy cream until soft peaks form, then fold it into the mascarpone mixture until fully combined.

Assemble Tiramisu

  1. 7

    Soak Ladyfingers

Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the cooled espresso mixture, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy.

  2. 8

    Layer the Ingredients

In a rectangular dish, layer half of the soaked ladyfingers at the bottom. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers.

  3. 9

    Repeat Layers

Repeat the process with the remaining ladyfingers and mascarpone mixture.

Chill and Serve

  1. 10

    Chill the Tiramisu

Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best results.

  2. 11

    Dust with Cocoa

Before serving, dust the top with 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder.
